How this site makes money

Short version: book sales, and one affiliate relationship that I'll always label.

Affiliate links

I participate in the Odoo affiliate program. When you start an Odoo subscription through a link on this site and become a paying customer, Odoo pays me a commission based on your subscription for the first twelve months. Your price is not affected in any way, and I have no access to your account, your data, or your usage.

Every affiliate link on this site is either labeled where it appears or lives on a page that carries this notice. If a link is not labeled as an affiliate link, it isn't one.

Why Odoo specifically

Because it's what my own business runs on, and it was the choice before there was any commission attached to it. The book describes how I got there, including the parts of the platform that frustrate me. I'd rather keep a reader's trust than earn a referral from someone the software is wrong for — if your situation calls for something else, the book says so.

The book itself

The book contains no affiliate links. That's partly Amazon's rule and partly my preference: a book you paid for shouldn't be selling you something on every page. Links live here, on the companion site, where you can see the disclosure.

Not advice

Everything here is one owner's account of what worked in one business. It isn't legal, financial, tax, or professional advice, and your results will differ from mine. Software decisions are expensive — do your own evaluation.

Email

If you subscribe, your address is stored in my own business database and used to send the newsletter. I don't sell it, rent it, or hand it to a third-party marketing platform. Unsubscribe links are in every message and they work immediately.
